ISPM 2020

How can a project manager, together with his/her project team, prepare successful project proposals and achieve the project outputs and outcomes facing also any eventual obstacles?

The ISPM aims at giving an in-depth overview of the project management, what it does mean and what are the key steps and procedures of a good project management process.

The ISPM participants will learn the main project management methodologies and key elements, through theory lessons and practical working sessions and project simulations. In this dynamic course program, students will experience the different factors that determine the success of a project.

The topics treated during the ISPM will follow all the steps related to the activity of project managers, from the planning, to the management and closure of a project:

  • development of proposals from project ideas;
  • needs analysis;
  • networking creation and partnership management;
  • scope and time management;
  • evaluation and implementation strategies;
  • execution, management, and controlling of ongoing projects;
  • closing and reporting processes;
  • Agile and Scrum approaches;
  • soft skills for project managers;
  • design in the health research field.

Target group

The International Summer School on Project Management will be open to 30 young professionals/postgraduates in all fields.

Following criteria will be considered optional but well accepted to access the school:

  • Ph.D. graduation
  • Master’s degree in the area of life science, social science, economics, finance and engineering
  • Professional experience in the ISPM arguments

Course structure

The School will consist of a total of 35 hours, 8 of which will be dedicated to an insight on health research, and a particular reference to tobacco harm reduction.

Participants will develop their skills in a project simulation in which they act as project managers in various settings. A final test will be done to evaluate the knowledge and skills acquired by the participants.
